Endless free Connections-style grouping puzzles — no daily limit, play instantly. Sort the 16 words into four hidden groups, then hit New Puzzle for another.
Connections Unlimited is a free, endless version of the word-grouping puzzle. Each round gives you 16 words to sort into four hidden groups of four that share a theme. You get four mistakes per round, then start a new puzzle instantly — with no daily limit, no download, and no ads.
How to play Connections Unlimited
You see 16 shuffled words. Find the four hidden groups of four, and submit one group at a time. When you finish, click New Puzzle to play again — there is no daily limit.
- Select four words you think share a connection, then submit the group.
- A correct group locks in and reveals its category.
- You have four mistakes per round before it ends.
- Groups are color-coded by difficulty — yellow is easiest, then green, blue, and purple (usually the trickiest).
Why play Connections unlimited?
The official puzzle is one grid per day. Unlimited mode removes the cap so you can play round after round to sharpen your pattern-spotting — ideal for practice, classrooms, or a longer play session. Every round pulls a fresh set of 16 words and four new categories from our own puzzle bank. Prefer a single curated board a day with streaks? Play the daily Connections-style puzzle.
Connections strategy tips
Don't submit your first hunch. Words often fit two groups on purpose, so solve the categories you're sure of first and leave ambiguous words for last. Watch for the purple group — it's usually wordplay, hidden words, or a twist rather than a plain theme. Sorting the obvious four narrows everything else.
Is Connections Unlimited free?
Yes — free to play instantly, no app, and no ads between moves.
