Word-game classrooms: the daily Wordle and daily Connections make great alternates for ELA warm-ups (best for grades 4 and up).
How to run it (the 3-step routine)
- Project the puzzle as students walk in. The board is touch and click friendly on smartboards and Chromebooks.
- Set a timer for 5 to 10 minutes. Solo, pairs, or whole-class call-outs all work.
- Mark the streak and transition to the lesson. The streak lives only on your device, so there is nothing to set up.
Give your class its own daily-puzzle page
With a free account, every warm-up you build is saved to your Studio — reopen and edit it anytime, and republish to the same link. Spin up your own branded page (e.g. “Ms. Aaron’s Class”) where students go every morning to play today’s puzzle. Add a QR code for the projector, an optional archive, and a note under the puzzle. Students still just play — no student sign-in, ever.
- Save & reuse every puzzle you make
- One class link — a fresh puzzle daily
- Branded page + scannable QR code
- Edit & republish without breaking links

Frequently Asked Questions
How do teachers use a daily puzzle as a bell ringer?
Project the day's puzzle while students settle in, set a 5 to 10 minute timer, and let the class solve together or in pairs. It replaces the scramble for a warm-up with a ready routine that builds vocabulary, logic, and number sense.
Do students need accounts or logins to play?
No. PuzzlePage has no student accounts and collects no student information. Open the page, project it, and play. That also means there is nothing for your district to review under COPPA or FERPA (see our schools page for the full privacy answers).
Is the daily classroom puzzle really free?
Yes. The daily warm-up, all live puzzles, and the printable generators are free. Premium exists only for watermark-free PDF export and book-scale batches, which classrooms do not need.
Can I print today's warm-up instead of projecting it?
Yes. Every rotation day links to the matching printable generator, where you can create the same puzzle type with an answer key as a free PDF for morning-work folders.
