Why keep a running total
Scrabble scores are added every turn, and a single mistake early on carries through the whole game. Writing the turn score and the new total side by side makes it easy for the other players to check, which is how tournament players keep score too.
The end-game adjustment
When the bag is empty and a player uses their last tile, the game ends. Each other player subtracts the value of the tiles left on their rack, and the player who went out adds the total of those tiles to their score.

Printing tips
- Print a stack. Set Pages in PDF to 10 or 20 and keep a pad in the game box.
- Large print for easier reading. Bigger type and taller rows help older players and anyone scoring across the table.
- Landscape for big groups. With six or more players, landscape gives every column more room to write.
