How a Yahtzee card is scored

Each game has thirteen boxes and you fill exactly one per turn, so a game always lasts thirteen turns. The upper section scores only the dice showing that number: three 4s in the Fours box is 12. The lower section scores combinations: three or four of a kind add up all five dice, a full house is 25, a small straight (four in a row) is 30, a large straight (five in a row) is 40, and five of a kind is 50. Chance takes the total of any roll.

The upper bonus

If your six upper boxes add up to 63 or more you score a 35-point bonus. 63 is what you get from three of each number (3 + 6 + 9 + 12 + 15 + 18), so the bonus rewards averaging three of a kind in every upper box. Falling short in the 1s or 2s is cheap; falling short in the 5s and 6s is what usually costs the bonus.

Games or players across the top

The classic pad gives each player their own card with six game columns, so one sheet lasts an evening. For a single game around the table, switch the columns to players and type everyone's name; the sheet prints one column per person instead.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Yahtzee bonus?

Two different bonuses: 35 points for 63 or more in the upper section, and 100 points for every extra Yahtzee after you have already scored 50 in the Yahtzee box.

How many games fit on one score sheet?

Up to eight columns. Six is the standard pad layout. Choose two cards per page if you want smaller cards to cut apart.

What counts as a small straight?

Any four dice in a row, like 1-2-3-4, 2-3-4-5 or 3-4-5-6. It scores 30. Five in a row is a large straight for 40.

Is this an official Yahtzee sheet?

No. It is a free blank score card that follows the standard rules. Yahtzee is a trademark of Hasbro, and PuzzlePage is not affiliated with it.

Printing tips

  • Print a stack. Set Pages in PDF to 10 or 20 and keep a pad in the game box.
  • Large print for easier reading. Bigger type and taller rows help older players and anyone scoring across the table.
  • Landscape for big groups. With six or more players, landscape gives every column more room to write.
