Scoring a hand

When a player knocks, both players count their deadwood (unmatched cards), and the knocker scores the difference. Going gin, with no deadwood at all, scores a 25-point bonus plus the opponent's deadwood. If the defender's deadwood is equal to or lower than the knocker's, that's an undercut and the defender scores the bonus instead.

Finishing the game

The first player to 100 wins the game and earns a 100-point game bonus, plus a box bonus (commonly 25) for each hand they won. Bonus values vary between rule books, so agree on yours first.
