Step by step

  1. 1Click Start from a template (or Templates in Your book, or the button in the empty preview).

  3. 3On a card, read the badge and the competition level — how crowded that shelf on Amazon is.
  4. 4Read Publish by (be live before shoppers are) and the audience line (say it in your title).
  5. 5Click Why this sells for the research in plain words.
  6. 6Click Use this: the title, subtitle, trim size and puzzles fill in, and the outline drafts itself.
  7. 7Replace the title with your own and add your author name.
  8. 8Switch to Cover — a starter cover came with the template, already wearing your title.

Episode two: start from a proven niche. A template is a researched book, ready to build. Open Templates, and you'll find thirty-seven niches, all free to use. This one's seasonal, so it sells every Christmas. The chip shows how crowded the shelf is. Publish by says when to be live. Then who buys it, the puzzle count, and a starter cover. Why this sells opens the research behind it, in plain words. Sudoku has the biggest audience, and the most crowded shelf. Word fill-in is low competition. Fewer books to beat. Honestly? It's a great first book. Now click Use this. The whole book fills in at once. The title and trim size are set, with a hundred puzzles inside. The outline drafts itself, and the first six preview free. Now make it yours. Type your own title over the template's, and add your name. The title page follows along. And you can change anything else, too. Flip to the cover. A starter cover came with the template, already wearing your title. Pick another starter any time. We'll design it in episode nine.
