How do I read a chord diagram?
The vertical lines are the strings, low E on the left to high E on the right; the horizontal lines are frets, with the thick line at the top as the nut. Dots show where to press, an O above a string means play it open, and an X means don't play it.
Are the chord shapes left-handed?
The diagrams are drawn for right-handed players, as in most method books. Left-handed players usually read them mirrored.
