Multiplication flash cards printable from PuzzlePage cover every times table from 1 to 12, with 13 cards per table and the answers lined up on the back for double-sided printing. Division, addition and subtraction decks to 10 and to 20 print the same way, free.
Times tables are the math facts parents search for most, and most free downloads give you one fixed sheet for all of them. The new math fact flash card pages give every table its own page, with the full fact list on screen and a one-click print that loads exactly those cards.
Here is what each deck contains, how the double-sided printing works, and a sensible order for learning the tables. Every page also works as a quick reference: the full fact list sits right on the screen, no printing needed.
📌 Key Takeaways
- 12 times table pages, 13 cards each, plus a full 0 to 12 deck of 169 cards.
- Division by 2 through 12, and addition and subtraction within 10 and within 20.
- Answers print on the back with the rows reversed, so double-sided copies line up.
- Each page links to bingo, task cards and an online practice deck with the same facts.
How many multiplication flash cards are in each deck?
Every count below is the real number of facts in the deck, and each page states its own definition. Within 20 means every number in the fact, including the answer, stays at 20 or below.
| Deck | Cards | Covers |
|---|---|---|
| One times table (for example the 7s) | 13 | 7 x 0 to 7 x 12 |
| All multiplication | 169 | 0 x 0 to 12 x 12 |
| Divide by one number | 13 | 0 ÷ 7 to 84 ÷ 7 |
| All division | 156 | Divisors 1 to 12, answers 0 to 12 |
| Addition within 10 | 66 | Sums up to 10 |
| Addition within 20 | 231 | Sums up to 20 |
| Subtraction within 10 | 66 | Never below zero |
| Subtraction within 20 | 231 | Never below zero |

How does double-sided printing work?
The flash card maker prints a page of questions, then a page of answers with every row reversed. When the sheet flips over, the reversal puts each answer directly behind its question.
- On a times table page, click Print 13 flash cards. The flash card maker opens with all 13 facts loaded.
- Drop any facts you do not need, and choose how many cards go on a page, from 2 to 9.
- Keep Print answer backs switched on.
- Download the PDF and print it double-sided, flipping on the long edge.
- Cut along the guides. Each card now has its answer on the back.
Card stock makes the cards last through a whole school year, but plain copy paper works for a quick set. On plain paper, choose 4 cards per page so each card is big enough to hold without bending.
Pro Tip
Print one test sheet first and hold it up to a window. If the answers sit behind the wrong cards, your printer flips on the short edge: switch that setting and print the rest.
How do you practice times tables at home?
Short daily practice works better than one long session. Ten cards a day, a few days a week, is a realistic goal for most kids.
-
Three piles
Go through the deck once and sort cards into fast, slow and not yet. Tomorrow, start with the not yet pile.
-
Beat the clock
Time one pass through a single table. Try to beat that time later in the week, not someone else's.
-
Say it both ways
When 7 x 8 = 56 is easy, flip the card and ask what times 8 makes 56. That turns the same deck into division practice.
-
Mix it in
Once a table is solid, shuffle its cards into the next one so older facts keep coming back.
Pro Tip
Keep each table in its own envelope or on a binder ring. A child can grab the 6s for a car ride without sorting a stack of 169 cards first.
What order should you learn the times tables in?
Start with the tables that follow a simple rule, then tackle the rest once those feel easy. Each table page includes tips for that table, like the finger trick for the 9s.
-
First: 0s, 1s, 2s, 10s, 5s and 9s
Each has a pattern. Times 0 is always 0, times 1 is the same number, 2s are doubles, 10s add a zero, 5s end in 0 or 5, and the digits of a 9s answer add up to 9.
-
Then: 3s, 4s, 6s, 7s, 8s, 11s and 12s
By now most of these facts are already known from the easier tables. Once the 0s, 1s, 2s, 5s, 9s and 10s are learned, the 7 times table has only a handful of new facts, and 7 x 7 and 7 x 8 are the ones worth extra practice.
Pro Tip
Turn a finished table into a game. The Make multiplication bingo button loads a multiplication bingo list, and Make task cards sends the same 13 facts to the Task Card Maker with a QR self-check on each card.
The same facts work in other formats. Build a set of math task cards for stations, or add cross math and number search pages in the Worksheet Builder.
The fall puzzle worksheets for kids post has seasonal practice pages too. For guidance on building math fact fluency, see the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many multiplication flash cards are there from 0 to 12?
There are 169 cards if you include every fact from 0 x 0 to 12 x 12. A single times table, such as the 7s, has 13 cards, from 7 x 0 to 7 x 12.
How do I print flash cards with the answers on the back?
Leave Print answer backs switched on in the flash card maker. After each page of questions comes a page of answers with every row reversed, so printing double-sided and flipping on the long edge puts each answer behind its question.
What order should kids learn the times tables in?
A common order is 0s, 1s, 2s, 10s, 5s and 9s first, because each has a simple pattern. The 3s, 4s, 6s, 7s, 8s, 11s and 12s come after. There is no single official order.
Are the math fact flash cards free?
Yes. Every page prints free from the flash card maker. Bigger decks ask for your email once before downloading, and free prints carry a small PuzzlePage.app mark on every card.
