Tips for learning the 7 times table
- If the 0s, 1s, 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s, 6s, 9s and 10s are already learned, the only new facts up to 7 × 10 are 7 × 7 = 49 and 7 × 8 = 56.
- Remember 7 × 8 = 56 as "5, 6, 7, 8" — 56 = 7 × 8.
- Split it into fives and twos: 7 × 6 is 5 × 6 (30) plus 2 × 6 (12) = 42.
How many pages the 13 cards print on

Printing the answers on the back
- Open the print dialog and turn on two-sided (duplex) printing.
- Choose flip on long edge (sometimes called long-edge binding). The pages are portrait, and each answer page reverses the order of every row, so the answer to the top-left card prints behind the top-left card.
- Don’t pick “flip on short edge” — it puts the answers behind the wrong cards.
- Print the first sheet, hold it up to a window to check, then print the rest and cut.
No duplex printer? Turn the answer backs off in the maker and print fronts only, or print the odd pages, put the stack back in the tray, and print the even pages. Printers feed differently, so test with one sheet first.

How many facts are in the 7 times table?
13: 7 × 0 through 7 × 12. The answers are 0, 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42, 49, 56, 63, 70, 77, 84.
What is 7 × 12?
7 × 12 = 84. It is the last card in this deck, and 7 × 0 = 0 is the first.
Does this deck include 8 × 7 as well as 7 × 8?
No — every card here is written with 7 first, so 7 × 8 = 56 is in and 8 × 7 is on the 8 times table page. They have the same answer, which is why children learn them as a pair.
Why go up to 12 and not 10?
The Common Core expects children to know all products of two one-digit numbers by the end of grade 3, and the national curriculum in England expects tables up to 12 × 12 by the end of Year 4. Going to 12 covers both, and the ×11 and ×12 cards are easy to leave out if your class stops at 10.
How many pages do the 7 times table flash cards print on?
13 cards. At 6 cards per page that is 3 sheets of paper printed double-sided (6 pages in the PDF); at 9 per page it is 2 sheets. Two cards a page makes big cards for the front of the room; nine a page saves paper.
How do I print the answers on the back?
Print double-sided and choose "flip on long edge" (some printers call it long-edge binding). Each answer page reverses the order of every row, so when the sheet flips, every answer lands behind its own question. Flipping on the short edge puts answers behind the wrong cards, so check one sheet before you cut.
Can I take out the facts my child already knows?
