How to play Star Battle (Two Not Touch)

Star Battle, also called Two Not Touch, is a placement puzzle. You place stars so that every row, every column and every outlined region contains exactly one star, and no two stars touch each other — not even diagonally.

1. 1One star per row, column and region. Every row, every column and each outlined region must contain exactly one star.
2. 2Stars can't touch. No two stars may be adjacent, including diagonally — every star needs a clear ring of empty cells around it.
3. 3Mark blocked cells. Tap a cell once to place a star, again to mark it blocked (no star), and again to clear it.
4. 4Use small regions. A region that fits in just a couple of rows or columns sharply limits where its star — and the surrounding stars — can go.
5. 5Solve fast for points. Place all the stars correctly as quickly as you can to earn a speed bonus.

Tips & strategy

Look for regions squeezed into a single row or column band — their star placement forces empty cells across whole lines, which then constrain neighbouring regions. Marking blocked cells around each placed star is the key habit; the no-touch ring often solves adjacent regions for you.
