How to play Crossmath (Math Crossword)
Crossmath is an arithmetic crossword. The grid holds number cells separated by operators and equals signs. Fill in the blank number cells so that every across equation and every down equation evaluates correctly.
- 1Read every equation. Each row and column forms an equation, read left-to-right and top-to-bottom, ending in its result.
- 2Place digits in the blanks. Tap a blank number cell and enter a digit 1–9. The operators and results are fixed clues.
- 3Solve left-to-right. Equations are evaluated in order as shown — there's no operator precedence — so plug in and check each line.
- 4Use crossing cells. A blank shared by an across and a down equation must satisfy both, which usually pins its value.
- 5Finish for the speed bonus. Complete every equation as fast as you can to maximise your score.
Tips & strategy
Target the equation with the fewest blanks first — often only one digit makes it true. Once a crossing cell is fixed, it constrains the perpendicular equation, so work outward from each solved intersection rather than guessing.
