How to make printable task cards with QR self-check codes, a recording sheet and an answer key

Step by step

1. 1Open the free Task Card Maker and click an example under Load an example — such as Halloween math (2nd grade) — or type your own cards.
2. 2Type one card per line as Question = Answer, or paste two columns from a spreadsheet.
3. 3For multiple choice, put the options under the question as A), B), C) and mark the right one with a star, like *B) 74.
4. 4Under Cards per page, choose 4 per page — large, 6 per page — standard or 8 per page — compact.
5. 5Keep QR self-check on each card on: students scan a card with any phone or tablet camera and see its answer, like Card 3: 17. It works offline and opens no website.
6. 6No phones in your room? Switch the QR codes off — the Student recording sheet and the Answer key still print.
7. 7Click the preview to check every page at full size, then click Download to get one PDF: the cards, the recording sheet and the answer key on the last page.

Here's how to make printable task cards, in about a minute. Load an example, or type your own. One card per line: the question, an equals sign, then the answer. For multiple choice, list the options underneath, and put a star on the right one. Next, pick a size: four, six or eight cards to a page. Four makes big cards, so longer word problems fit easily. Now the answer checks. Each card can carry its own Q-R code. Students scan it with any phone camera. The answer pops up right on the screen. It works offline, and there's no website to visit. No phones in your room? Switch the codes off. The recording sheet and answer key still print. Click the preview to check every page at full size. Then download it all as one file: the cards, a recording sheet, and the key. It's free to print. And there's your set. Cut the cards apart, copy the recording sheet, and keep the key for yourself.
