How to make your own Connections puzzle
A quick walkthrough of the free Connections Puzzle Maker: name four groups of four words, check the colored board, play it yourself, then get a free link anyone can play — no account needed.

Step by step
- 1On the Connections Puzzle Maker, add an optional title, like Game Night Warm-Up.
- 2For each of the four groups — yellow is easiest, purple toughest — type a category and four words.
- 3The status chip confirms: 16 words, all different — ready to share.
- 4In Creator view the board is colored by group. Press Shuffle tiles, and plant a red herring or two.
- 5Switch to Play it to see the shuffled, uncolored tiles players get.
- 6Press Get the play link: copy your free link, use the QR code, or press Print sheet for a PDF with the answer key.
- 7Open the page and play it yourself — pick four words and press Submit. Anyone can play without an account.
