Frequently Asked Questions
How does a class code work?
The code (like KA-E3) tells every device which puzzle to load, so the whole class races on the identical board. Nothing is sent to a server and no room is created: the code itself is the game.
Do students need to sign in or install anything?
No. Students open puzzlepage.app/classroom/live on any browser (Chromebooks, tablets, phones), type the code, and play. There are no student accounts and no student data, so there is nothing for a district to review under COPPA or FERPA.
Do teachers need an account to host a game?
Hosting takes a one-time free teacher sign-in: enter your email once on this device and you can start unlimited games. We use it to send new classroom resources and launches, and every email has an unsubscribe link. Only the adult hosting signs in — never students.
How do we see who finished first?
Each device shows its own solve timer. Most teachers run it as hands-up-when-done or pair students per device. Keeping timing on-device is what lets us stay 100% student-data-free.
Is Live Class Mode free?
Yes, completely. It uses the same free live puzzles as the daily classroom warm-up.
